"Well, I am oficially sick to my stomach. My payment has went up almost $250 a month since my intial GFE and I am afraid I am not going to qualify for my loan. When we started the process we were at 4.5% and now today we are at 5.75%. That's not so bad, but my pay has also been cut by 5%, no worries when rates were low, but now it's a huge concern. :("    View Comment

"This is great food for thought. I have had two GFE's given to me about a month ago and I thought both were a little suspect. We are going to be in the lock period here in about 3 weeks and when I go back to the lenders, I am going to use this advice and ask for both zero point and 1 point to make sure everything is in check and hopefully make an informed decision. "Mike, that's true, but not when your LTV is almost 100% b/c of falling home values, there's not anyone who I have talked to that will refi. Unless I am in some way getting bad information."    View Comment

"This is really frustrating to me. What about the responsible people who want to take advantage of the great rates, but can't because the LTV is greater than 80%. Not to sound ungrateful for what the government is doing, but for someone who is financially responsible and can't refinance b/c of falling home prices, this does nothing. SIGH!!!!
