    refinance interest charged question.

hello. new to the forum. just refinanced last week. 154k 15 years. i explicitly stated i did not want any out of pocket charges. i was charged $552 for interest charges. when i inquired via e/m i was given this response.

"The daily interest is in block 10, the earlier in the month you sign the higher that number will be. There is also per diem interest on the payoff of your existing loan."

looking at the hud-1 settlement statement, i do not see a box 10. the only reference to daily interest is "daily interest charges from 11-7-11 to 11-1-11 @$13.90 per day #901 good faith estimate 97.30 hud-1 -83.40. if i look back at #901, it says -83.40 again.

are you able to ascertain if i was fairly charged? i sure am getting the run around...

    thanks

    dave

Interest is paid on the old loan through the date of funding (plus usually a few extra days which will be refunded to you within a few weeks). Interest is also paid on the new loan from the date of funding through the end of the month. This is standard and occurs on every refi in the country.

    Thanks,

    Jason
