Real Estate Appraisal Firm Unveils Lender Education Program
Real estate appraisal firm unveils lender education
program
SEATTLE, Wash., -- The William Craig Company, Inc. (WCCI), a nationwide real
estate appraisal firm, has announced the initiation of LendEd, a free mortgage
lender education program established to help banks and credit unions expand
their understanding of the appraisal process in today's market.
LendEd sessions provide lenders with a walk-though of standard appraisal
forms as well as a live question and answer session with WCCI's certified
review appraiser, Paul Hennig, a 21-year industry veteran. The program will
focus specifically on 1) how appraisers make adjustments; 2) establishing
comparable properties; 3) above grade vs. below grade living areas; and 4)
other frequently asked questions regarding recent changes in mortgage
regulations and appraising in a distressed market.
"In the constantly evolving mortgage market we recognize the need to
let lenders know how regulations are affecting appraisals, as well as exactly
how the process works," said Danielle Vance, WCCI's Vice President of
Operations.
WCCI President, Jacob Amy, is confident LendEd will fill a void in the
mortgage industry by providing lenders with a deeper knowledge of the appraisal
process. This knowledge can ultimately be passed on to borrowers and aid
healthy mortgage decisions.
"Things have changed dramatically over the past few years," said
Mr. Amy, "and it's up to the appraisal provider to ensure that its lender
clients are given an opportunity to ask questions face-to-face in order to
understand the appraisal process, not only for their own loan operations, but
for educating their borrowers as well."
WCCI held its inaugural LendEd session at the Boeing Employees Credit Union
in Tukwila, WA.
"Having Paul there to meet face to face and hear about his first hand
experiences was a bonus and really gave us that appraiser perspective," said
Jessica Ogilvie, a senior loan officer at the Boeing Employees Credit Union.
Sessions take place at a location of the lender's choosing, or via remote
communications. Visit http://www.wcci.biz or email Danielle.Gatsos@wcci.biz for
contact information and availability.
