Just Received My California Real Estate Broker's License
I have just received my California Real Estate Broker's License within the last 24 hours. I have the opportunity to purchase a home for myself that also has just come on the market within the last 24 hours. Because of the short time schedule, I have as yet not joined a real estate sales firm (ie:vRemax, Coldwell Banker, etc.) nor joined a local real estate board. (ie: Pasadena board, San Gabriel board, etc.) I believe I am still able to write a contract for the purchase of the home for myself and receive commission for the transaction. Could you please weigh in on my circumstance. Thank You.

Did you mean a "California Real Estate Salesperson/Solicitors License" ?

Instead of trying to get a commission on your own deal, I would try to get the price reduced. This way you save on the long haul.

Join a brokerage at your will and pleasure later, or start your own.

In case you need financing assistance, including FHA please do not hesitate to contact me. I can offer financing to you and your future clients.

You can write the deal and collect. Just be sure to disclose, disclose, disclose. You do not need to be a member of CAR/NAR or local board to do so. Just call yourself a Real Estate Broker (which you apparently are) you are not a Realtor. (need to join CAR and local board to use that designation)
