I don't know the exact percentage nation wide, however, I do know in the area I live, all the Countrywide foreclosures are just sitting empty with no relevant information on how to purchase the properties.
JP Morgan, if you are to be the saving grace of the "housing crisis" step up.

RE:Bank of America to Buy Countrywide

George, Countrywide is exempt from that so it would not affect BOFA.

RE:Bank of America to Buy Countrywide

I do not understand how this merger could be allowed. If Countrywide is on the verge of Bankrupcy how could anyone pay 4 billion dollars for it. Doesn't Bankrupcy mean you are operating in the red. Also if the stock is at $9 a share and the purchase price is valued at $7.6 per share who makes up the difference.
I think the most disgusting thing of all is them talking about a severance package of 100 million dollars to Mazillo. How much would his severance package be if the company wasn't purchased but went bankrupt instead?
The whole thing stinks badly!!

RE:Bank of America to Buy Countrywide

Isn't there a Federal Law prohibiting banks from holding > 10% of U.S. Deposits?
