With the foreclosure rate so high many lenders are becoming lenient in hopes to come up with a solution that will not result in foreclosure. It's worth a shot to call your lender & tell them that you can't qualify for a refi and you wont be able to make your payments if they dont extend the term of your arm or put you into a fixed rate. I know lenders are converting 2yr arms into 4yr arm or even fixed rates to stop foreclosures.

RE:Mortgage Servicers Encouraged To Help Homeowners

Can a Arm rate be fixed or locked without refi? Moving to 60 year Ammortization would help solve much of the current problem for all.

RE:Mortgage Servicers Encouraged To Help Homeowners

We could help both the borrower and the lender and possibly save a little time if we were to allow the lending institutions to move to 60 year loans. We did that with 40 and 50 year ammortization, the reason it isn't working is because the lenders are so greedy and charge more just for asking for those terms that it doesn't make pay for the borrower to take them.

RE:Mortgage Servicers Encouraged To Help Homeowners

Helping thousands of families with short sale we see at Ishortsale that lenders are not so cooporating as it seemed to be....
