My mortgage company flat out refused to help, "Sorry you dont qualify for a loan modification, but please re-apply!" the company gets paid from what I was told $7,500 for each application they receive regardless of results. So this little magic $7,500 penalty slapped is a joke to us consumers. I finally lost my house last month since my last option BK was denied by judge even after I made payments. I wasn't given notice but less than 10 days later it was foreclosed. Home Owners Bill of Rights is a joke word. You want to fix the greedy mortgage companies you force them into making it work. I put 100K down on my house, been in it 7 years, was injuried on the job that required 2 back surgeries & have been forced to retire. Took 8 months before my disability starterted to be received & didn't have "documentable income!" I litterally feel helpless & the greedy banks want this cause they make tons of $$$$$ on foreclosures, nothing to loose. I sure wished a Vet could get real help!

re: Foreclosure Activity Drops Sharply Thanks to New California Law

This is great, but what will be done to help homeowners that Banks refused to negoiate with that were forced to short sale ?
