Become A Real Estate Agent In Wyoming

The Wyoming Real Estate Commission,
under the Wyoming Secretary of State, administers the Real Estate license Law of 1971 from
its home office in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
The requirements for a real estate salesperson license in Wyoming include being
sponsored by a Wyoming licensed real estate broker who will supervise and train the
salesperson. The applicant needs to successfully complete at least 54 hours of approved
real estate education courses at an approved real
estate school, consisting of 30 hours of Salesperson I and 24 hours of
Salesperson II. Then the applicant must successfully pass the salesperson real
estate examinations.
The requirements for a
real estate broker license in Wyoming include having at least
two years of active experience as a real estate salesperson, or furnishing proof
indicating holding a degree in real estate from an accredited university or college. In
most cases, but not all, applicants for the real estate broker license must not have had a
real estate license refused or revoked in any state, or been convicted of any felony.
Broker applicants need to have successfully completed at least 54 hours of approved
prelicensure education (30 hours of Broker I and 24 hours of Broker II) courses and need
to successfully pass the broker real estate examinations.
All real estate applicants need to have reached the age of majority, and must provide
proof that they bear a good reputation for honesty, trustworthiness, integrity and have
the competence to transact business as a licensed agent.
Once licensed, all real estate agents need to successfully complete 45 hours of
continuing education courses during every three-year renewal period. 24 of these hours are
courses that need to be repeated during every three year period, and they are:
- Marketplace Issues – 8 hours
- Contracting, Trust Account and Closing – 8 hours
- Practical Applications – 8 hours
The remaining 21 of the 45 hours are devoted to electives.
Wyoming real estate licenses are issued for a three-year period. Agents are given a
60-day grace period in which to renew their licenses, and there is a fee for late renewal.
Every real estate license in Wyoming must carry Error and Omissions
Insurance.

services for the professional agent. Organizations like the Wyoming
