Q: Can I get a loan modification on my VA loan?
  • Every loan modification situation is different, so the first thing you want to do is call the bank on your mortgage statement and inquire about a loan modification.  These days, this question is very common and they will be able to search rather quickly if you qualify or not.  If they cannot tell you off hand, they might ask you to fill out some paper work and return to them prior to offering any help.  If your bank is unwilling to help you, then you will want to reach out to the Department of Veterans Affairs directly and inquire through them.  VA has some unique programs available which are not available to other homeowners.
