Finding a Real Estate School
Q: Can you go to a university to get your real estate license?
  • You need to contact your real estate commission located in the state where you reside. The commission will advise you of a local real estate school that is qualified to teach you the real estate rules and regulations. You must take classes via classroom or internet from a real estate school before applying for the test. The testing center information will be given to you by your instructor. When you pass the test you will then apply for your license through the real estate commission. Most states differ on the number of hours for training. In Mississippi and Tennessee they require 120 hours of training.

Your next step will be to find a real estate company to work for since you must work for a broker in the beginning. You will be required to buy errors and omission insurance to work in the real estate industry.
