Q: Do you mortgage double wide mobile homes?
  • If it is a H.U.D. (Department of Housing and Urban Development) approved double wide on a permanent base and you own the land on which it sits then it is possible to refinance through an F.H.A. (Federal Housing Administration) lender. Generally speaking the Loan has to fit into F.H.A. Guidelines for credit worthiness, income, and be within the loan limits for the location. The minimum guidelines on these include an ontime mortgage or rental history, a verfiable income for two years preferably in the same line of work, no lates after a bankruptcy agreement and you must be out of bankruptcy for a period of at least 2 years.
