Q: If your credit card company reviews your credit report, is it held against you as an inquiry?
  • The answer is inside your question.

"If the credit card company reviews your credit report", then they have actually pulled a credit report and the pulling of the report will show as an inquiry on your credit history with that specific credit bureau.

There are three main seperate credit bureaus. (there are others - However, most companies that extend credit pull credit histories through the top three) The top three bureaus are TransUnion, Equifix and Experian. Each of these organizations compiles a seperate history on an individual.

There are several possibile outcomes to your question... The credit card company may look solely at your history with the credit card company. OR the credit card company may pull a one, two or three bureau credit history to "review your credit history".
