http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=azAlyoQMZDyA I have a question pertaining to this article Would it be illegal for a bank to make up it's own FHA rules according to this article? For instance can a bank say a borrower must put 10% down to get an FHA loan if they have a credit score between 620-659?

Do you still have the paper work from your initial loan? That seems like a pretty big component of the loan to not know while signing your paper work. Re-read the paper work then your best bet is to get a lawyer. Banks/lender are so overwhelmed with the current market conditions they won't talk to you unless your get an attorney involved.

I agree with Kent But if you are really desperate to buy this 3rd home and you own this 2nd home free and clear then why not just get a HELOC on the 2nd home to pull the equity out for a down payment?

If the property is located in a disaster area or declining market UW will more then likely request a full appraisal regardless of the DU/LP findings

My understanding is the only way for HARP to work is for the original servicer to do it. All my customers have been told that.
