I will be moving to another state in a couple of months. My wife is refusing to move with me. Also she will not sign to sell the house we are in. I live in a community property state.
Though you are married, you can purchase property and put it into only your name. This does not, however, free you from your State's legal requirements as a Community Property State. Your wife may very well have a legal interest in the property in the event of a divorce. You would need to check with a real estate lawyer or a divorce lawyer to see if there are any agreements that you and your wife could sign that would release her interest in your future property purchase.
