My mortgage has been in modification since March 3/27/09 with Chase Home Finance. What do I do next? Loan # 1843550452 Lien Holder: Chase Home Finance, LLC 4500 Cherry Creek South Dirve Glendale, CO 80246-1518 Re: Patrick Rodrigue 18730 Forest Deer Road Houston, TX 77084 214-334-5589 To Whom It May Concern” My mortgage has been in modification since March 3/27/09 with Chase Home Finance. My property value assessed by Harris County is $129,000 and my loan payoff is $147,000. I had to accept a lower paying job after being laid off twice in the mortgage industry. The lower paying job was in FL for a training of 1 year and they would transfer me back to Texas. Now, I had to accept the job in FL to have a steady income but it was a lot less then I was use to making here in Texas. My primary home was still the house in Texas. I had to pay rent in FL along with my house note. I fell behind on my house note and constantly called Chase to find out the status of my modification. I was given the run around from dept to dept being told I was transferred to the wrong dept and or being disconnected. I have asked several times for a direct number and no one can give me that number. I was called at 9:40pm at night and told that I would be going into foreclosure because was behind on my mortgage. I hung up on them. 5/8/09, now two months behind they sent me a letter saying “notice of defaulted mortgage” 5/13/09, I received a letter from Chase stating Certified Mail letting me know how to avoid foreclosure. Funny how they can send these letters out but can not return my phone calls about the modification. 8/11/09 , I finally got in touch with someone named AJ Ruff at 877-830-1842 ext 15020. He was very helpful to me and told me that the modification should not be taking that long to get thru but they were short staffed on underwriters but then told me that I needed to get updated items faxed to him and he would put the file back into underwriting. I faxed him the items he needed and then called him to confirm that he had it and he said yes that he got it and send it to the underwriter. Mr. Ruff said that it would take up to 30 days to get into underwriting. I told him that 30 days would mean that I would have to send all new updated items to them again. He apologies and said that it’s the only thing he could do. I have kept in touch with Mr. Ruff for a period of time and all he kept telling me is to fax new items in. Finally on 11/4/09, Mr. Ruff told me that I needed to sign and date my 4506T again for the 3rd time and fax it back to him again with other updated items. 11/30/09, I received a letter from Chase stating that I need to sign and date the 4506T (check the box on line 5) and 2 years tax returns to 866-282-5682. I done that again. modification loan and they put me on hold and sometimes you get transferred to a different dept and or disconnected again. 1/12/09, I called right before doing this letter to you and dialed Mr. Ruff’s ext. number and got a guy name Joe and he put me on hold and then comes back and said that the last note in the system was telling me that my loan was in underwriting since 9/14/09. Now, 4 months in underwriting does not make any sense. I worked in the mortgage industry and in the foreclosure industry and I hear this from time to time by all people going thru the same thing I am going thru. Its basically called a stall tactic. These lenders do not want to modify loans because they somehow don’t want the individual to keep their homes. Now, I need an helping hand because Chase got theirs from President Obama. I called Senator John Cornyn’s (D) office and they told me that they could not help me because the Federal Government can not control the banks.
