I started my mortgage professional career after 5 years of providing financial planning solutions to families and small businesses. In 1999 my firm rolled out a mortgage financing division to provide lending products to our clients. I quickly realized that I was made for the mortgage business and "just got it". I became a certified mortgage trainer for our firm and taught certification classes for all the firms agents. In 2000 I started working full-time as a loan officer and sales trainer for a small local mortgage company. After several years I realized the company plan didn't fit mine. In 2004, after a year of planning, I founded SkiHawk Financial, Inc. with my business partner Sean Hawkins. After working together at the "practice company" we realized we could just do it better. Forcused on providing qualify financing options, not just one choice, to all of our clients and building an open, supportive learning culture for our Loan Officers. The result is in just 5 short years and small team of dedicated professionals we've helped over 650 families and funded over $120 million in home loans to the Colorado Springs communities alone. In 2009 SkiHawk Mortgage joined Universal Lending, Colorado's oldest Mortgage Banker, and became a full service mortgage banker providing residential, commerical and construction financing including VA, FHA, Rural Housing, Debt Consolidation, Home Equity Lines, 2nd Mortgages and Rehab/Renovation Loans.
