I started in the Mortgage business as an Assistant Loan Officer with Home Savings of America in 1993. I was set free in my "territory" in Bellevue, Washington in 1994. Since then, I have been with a few different companies. I left the retail bank sector and became a broker in 2002.
As our industry experiences changes like we have never seen...it is important to keep up with the market and make sure my clients are informed.
It's ALL about the details. Every little thing can make a deal go very wrong...if you don't pay attention. Packaging the loan is what it's all about. I think like an underwriter...the one who makes the final decision...and it pays off. Paying attention to those little details makes the difference between a nightmare transaction...and one that is clean and stress free.
Anyone can originate a loan...but closing one, and retaining a "client for life" requires experience and communication....above and beyond. There are no shortcuts.
