As founder and Branch Director of Stewart & Soss Mortgage, Andrew provides operational direction and a market expertise to the company. Andrew has a varied background in real estate finance with extensive experience in both retail and wholesale residential mortgage origination.
After graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2002 with a degree in Statistical Economics, Andrew accepted a position as AVP in charge of the wholesale lending division at United Labor Bank in Oakland. Andrew was responsible for managing workflow, product offerings, underwriting, secondary market transactions as well as reporting departmental revenue to Senior Management / Board of Directors.
In 2006, Andrew founded Stewart & Soss Mortgage, one of the premier locally owned mortgage companies in the Bay Area. In 2009, Stewart & Soss Mortgage was recognized as the highest rated financial services companies by reviewers at Yelp.com (Best of Yelp, Summer '09 and again in Spring '10). In 2010, Stewart & Soss Mortgage became a division of Pinnacle Capital Mortgage, a full service direct lender mortgage banking operation specializing in providing residential financing solutions to clients.
In 2009, Andrew was elected to Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the California Association of Mortgage Professionals (CAMP). In 2011/2012, Andrew will serve as its President. He also serves on the statewide Government Affairs committee with the organization and is actively involved with the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB). He has travelled to Washington DC on behalf of NAMB to discuss housing finance related issues with members of HUD, the Federal Reserve as well as members of Congress.
In 2009, Andrew was awarded a Certified Mortgage Consultant designation by NAMB. This is the highest designation awarded in the mortgage industry and Andrew is one of less than 50 CMC's in all of California. Andrew was one of the first loan originators in California to pass bot
