How are the New Member, Junior Member, and Senior Member rankings developed?  Is there anything that will be higher than senior member?

How about anyone signing up for Premium during the Beta testing is designated a 'Charter Member'?

How soon will we be able to go premium?  Is it already set up for sign ups? 

Premium Memberships will be available very soon.  Premium members will still show a membership level, but will also carry a premium member badge.

The Member Ranking System is based on the number of posts and is set up as follows:

New Member  0-20     
Junior Member  21-100     
Full Member  101- 500     
Senior Member  500+

Don't get this confused with the points you see listed below the member ranking.  There is also a points system where points are awarded for actions throughout the site.  The ranking you see is based on the number of posts, listed above.

We are open to suggestions of the levels and the scoring of these leves.

I will look into the 'Charter Member' designation.  It is very likely that the moderators we'll be selecting will come from this beta group if the interest is there.

I've seen that too.  There is a "Thanks, Jen" thread in BO Premium.  197 replies.  I still want to be #1.

This is how the points system works.  The forum member rankings are based on the number of posts.  So, certain actions by other community members will increase your Points.  We probably won't give out exactly what actions give points, so that the system isn't manipulated.  But, let's just say that the stronger community members will build the most points.  Contributions to the forums, profile completeness, wiki contributions, comments on articles/posts all play a part in the points system.

i see this other forum doing that.

they used to allow you to rate the person negatively but i guess the friends were getting together to rate the people didn't like.

one way that forum took care of it was that you would lose points if you voted someone negatively.

That's a good idea.  Make sure it is a complicated algorithm because crazies with nothing better to do (me) will try to figure it out.

They are two seperate functions.  Right now they are just too close together.  The 'In Reply To' - takes you to the post that the person replied to.

The stars is a rating system for each post.
