STICKY: Welcome to The New MND Forum
Greetings new members and BO refugees.
The mass exodus was slightly unplanned but now that it's on, we'll roll with it. If you have made it here, you would likely have been invited anyway. If you wouldn't have been, don't worry, we'll ban you soon.
Several of us, chosen arbitrarily have been on here testing functionality and working out bugs so that when we invited the rest of you as well as the 20,000+ members of www.mortgagenewsdaily.com, it would be a seemless transition. Knowing that, please understand that we are still VERY open to changes in the format and section headings. Ultimately, we really just want this to be a forum where good brokers and other industry professionals can come together and create a community the way they want it to be created. No democracy is perfect, but we're certain we can create something much better than the competition. Don't forget to use the suggestion forum at the top of the main section!
I'll be posting more by way of an introduction soon, but rest assured, this will be the single best community for mortgage brokers on the web. Scrape by with the current format and PLEASE check previous posts in the suggestion forum to make sure you're not double posting. Other than that, have a look around, make sure to look for the appropriate heading for your post, and have fun.
Working Draft of Forum Rules (EMAIL ME for additions)
1. use the correct forum heading (in other words, don't post a loan scenario anywher other than in the loan scenario forum). this site will have little tolerance for people who detract from the community. This will be decided by the community, not by IB, or anyone else unless you seriously cross the line (in which case, Oz will zap you)
2. Don't post any content you would not want your clients to see. The best reason for this is that this forum is open to the public, and consumers will be able to come on the forum and ask questions and interact directly with brokers, appraisers, realtors, etc...
3. watch your language. use common sense. don't be offensive. If enough members find your language, tone, or content offensive, they can flag your post and you'll go immediately into a "ban queue" for review.
4. strive for camarederie and germane content. The IQ level over here is going to be higher than previous forums whether that's achieved by your content, or us banning people that don't contribute to it.
5. No form responses. If I see another copy and paste response trolling business, I will grow angry and use my magic to destroy you.
6. Start seeding good content. Ask good questions, think it through, be thorough, CITE REGULATIONS if you are making a claim as to guidelines, etc...
7. Eventually (who knows when...), you will be banned if you don't update at least your profile, and preferably a pic.
All these topics, your suggestions, concerns, policies, etc... will be addressed in greater detail soon. Until then, WELCOME~~
