    Extension of New Home Owner Tax credit

    I have heard that the New Home Owner tax credit has been extended and includes current owners who are buying a new or used house.  Now you must sign a contract between Dec.1 and April. something.  I already signed a contract but they haven't even started on the house yet for a new build.  Is there anyway I could change the date on my contract to reflect that I signed it Dec. 1 or later and qualify?
