Hey SEO experts (and non-experts who pay others), Google just announced that users will be able "to customize search by re-ranking, deleting, adding, and commenting on search results. With just a single click you can move the results you like to the top or add a new site. "

Maybe cool for users, but I suspect SEMs won't like it very much!!
Jen,
Does that affect actual search results? Or just that users search results?
It will only affect the user's results. However, users can see how people have edited search results by using SearchWiki.
The dynamics of search are constantly changing.
i believe it will affect only the user level
The changes you make only affect your own searches.
Google has implemented a lot of options at the user level like 'safe search' and other options for a better user experience
Believe it or not...Google may use this to affect their own rankings as they're trying to target how PEOPLE want to view things
Google's goal is to get all the SEO experts concentrating on building good content instead of trying to trick the system. They will definitely be using all of this information to improve the quality of search results for everyone. You wouldn't believe the amount of individual information they've got on you already.
from all those nice tools they offer...they're becoming the CIA
Any google application will require you to share your private data with them.
