I see!  I wondered where those stars came in, is there a location that lists how you get points?  Does it really matter if you get points or not, is it like Commander Keen?

Points are a measure of your participation throughout the community.  

Participation includes:  inviting someone to join the community, forum posts, wiki answers, comments on blogs news, voting for Around the Web news, rating posts/news/video, etc.

How will points be used?

We don't want to say exactly but one example - points could play a part in the ranking algorithm for the Professional Services Directory.  Listings will rotate, but users with higher point levels may be weighted heavier.  Basically the more you participate throught the site, the more you'll be rewarded.
