Please provide 2009 statistics on why home staging is the future for home sellers. The advantages for the realtor and home stager.

US and Canada staged homes vs. non staged homes time on market statistics are updated frequently and can be found at www.StagedHomes.com, the leading authority in home staging, also a wealth of information is available as to advantages for home sellers.

My home staging company 2009 statistics in North Carolina and South Carolina is under contract in 2 to 6 weeks after staging.  Many of my staged homes languished on the market vacant and unsold, expired once or twice, and changed agents before I was finally called in to stage.  Bottom line - don't wait.  Staging works IF done properly.  There are many hobby decorators calling themselves home stagers so do your homework before hiring.  Contact me for nationwide assistance in finding a reputable home stager www.LakeWylieHomeStaging.com

Unless a buyer is looking for a fixer-upper at a fixer-upper price, every buyer wants a clean, comfortable, move-in ready home.  Nothing accomplishes this as does home staging.  The advantages to the seller and Realtor are less time on market, less associated fees and taxes charged because the property languished on the market, selling for a higher price in a shorter amount of time, and no succession of price reductions because the property languishes on the market.  The staged property shows better and sells faster - a proven fact.

    Current Affairs
Statistics® shows that 94% of homes Staged by an Accredited Staging Professional® sell in 29 days or less, compared to an average of 145 days for homes that are not Staged. Homes Staged by Accredited Staging Professionals® stay on the market 83% less time than a home that has not been Staged.

    2008 Study
In 2008 vacant homes in our study that were previously on the market an
average of 190 days as un-staged properties, had not sold. Those same
homes were taken off the market and staged and re-listed. Those properties
on average sold after 28 days on market after they were staged, which is
85% less time on the market.

    2007 Study
In 2007 vacant homes in our study that were previously on the market on
average of 131 Days as un-staged properties had not sold. Those same
homes were then taken off the market and staged and re-listed. Those
properties on average sold after 42 days on market after they were staged,
which is 68% less time on the market.

In conclusion, Home Staging is no longer a “nice to have” it is "mandatory" to maximize equity and makes good business sense for Realtors, homeowners and prospective buyers.
