Anonymous:I have a family and have the obvious concerns
I didn't realize that mental disability was contagious.
Seriously, not only was it not illegal to not disclose this fact it could have been construed as a Fair Housing violation TO disclose this fact:
" a local
government can violate the Fair Housing Act if it blocks a group home or denies a requested reasonable
accommodation in response to neighbors' stereotypical fears or prejudices about persons with
disabilities." The same could be said of a real estate professional or seller.

Think of it this way. If you found out that potential buyers in your neighborhood were being warned (disclosed) that you lived across the street due to your race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, had children, your age, or marital status that would be a discriminatory practice and a violation of the Fair Housing laws.
