I'm sure I already know the answer to this, just wanting to make sure. My family and I lived in our home for 4 years and 2 months. Before that we owned a home for 3 years, moved to be closer to our jobs. We recently sold our home because we outgrew it, and we found a home for less of a mortgage. We have 3 small children and my husband has been in jeopardy of loosing his job the past few months. We have no idea how much longer he will be working. I also have a job, but my income doesn't even come close to being able to support even 2 of the 5 of us.  We now have a contract with a new home and are set to close in 2-3 weeks. So we are not eligible for the tax credit because we were not in one home for 5 years? I'm am just almost sick about this. When my husband first told me about it I thought this was our answer. We have never been eligble for a credit like this so I'm not sure how were getting lost in the middle. If anyone would happen to know the correct answer, please let me know. Thank you.
