    Freezing of Heloc Accounts

In the last year we were asked many times to perform appraisals to help homeowners dispute their banks assertion regarding the value of their home. The banks used AVM or other non reliable appraisals. Such appraisals are often used to eliminateor freeze existing lines of credit. Lenders do it without warning in some instances. this lead apparently to several lawsuits and class action suits against large banks who allegedly used faulty appraisals to justify their actions. We noticed that in some instances the homeowner was given the oppurtunity to dispute the bank's value and obtain their own appraisal. In other cases it was a final decision.
