    Encompass 360 a nightmare

Being a turnaround Manager by trade , i thought that i've seen it all when it comes to major FUBAR . But i thought wrong ...Here comes the Encompass 360 to top my list of FUBAR situations.

On Tuesday of last week around 1:30 PM, the day after Labor day  , came the update thru our server , unannounced  and unwelcome.

The update ran for two hours , stopped the whole company from doing any business.

After two hours , nothing worked. When i say nothing , i meant truly nothing . We couldn't even login .

It took the Ellie Mae technical support 4 hours to get it online.  after logging in , all the milestones were gone, the data was a mess , none of the loan officer were able to see their pipleines, the print to file feature didn't work, the "Move to folder"' didn't work., all of the rate locking info disappeared .

A long nightmare had just started ....

Now to further explain things, we're a company of a 120 people all working on Encompass. You can only imagine the Mayhem.

Since then to date , every time the Ellie Mae people fix something , something else breaks.

Anything you can think of , you name it : Sql errors, printing errors, compatibility problems, data saving problems, recovery messages where there shouldn't be any , templates disappearing then reappearing again , problems converting to PDF, pulling credit , forms disappearing for no apparent reason , the e-folder has an uneven performance, the pipeline rebuild doesn't work. The Encompass Icon would even disappear from the desktops after restarts on some computers running Vista.

    In essence a catastrophe.

I'll write more once i finish retrieving all of the lost loans.
