Now that new folks are arriving that us old-timers didn't know from a previous life, LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER.
first, fill out your bio and profile! Because the easiest response to this thread is to say: "too busy writing loans, click my profile... That's me!" But I gave an example of some extra off topic ice-breakers that you're welcome to copy/paste and add to, about 2 posts down. Do it! I want to know who I'm talking to! All the cool kids are doing it...
------------------------------------------------------------------
If you need to know how to upload a pic, click on your profile, go to the bottom right and click "more files" under the "my files" section. Browse and uploadyour pic. Open the pic in the browser after it's downloaded. Click "download" on the top right bar which will bring it up as the only thing on the screen. Copy the address from the address bar and now you can upload that as your picture, or even use the "little green tree" in the text editor to embed it in a post. Upload your picture! Let us know if you can't figure it out.
Hi big boy.
Hey all
I'm Matt
click on my pic to go to my profile page where you can get a bio and other info about me. Please feel free to add me to your connections which is a link under my pic on the top left of the profile page. This will be a good way for us to stay connected when things get busy in here.
As far as stuff that isn't addressed in the bio or stuff that can use some more personal explanation:
- I list Portland, OR as my city because it's the closest metro area. I'm actually about 30 minutes south, closer to the state capitol of Salem.
Hobbies:
- none right now except MBS, but when time allows: golf, skiing, guitar hero, playing real guitar, racing sportbikes, hanging out with my 2 german shepherds, wake-boarding, or pretty much anything else fun
Red or White:
- Red, definitely... Oregon is Pinot Noir country, so can't go wrong there, but also like cab, shiraz, and some chianti. Drink of choice however: Talisker neat, or on the rocks depending on mood
Family:
- Married and one two year old son. 2 German Shepherds...
Sense of Humor:
- On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being hardest to offend, I'm a 9 or a 10. I might offend you too if you spend too much time reading my writing or talking to me. Tough $%#@. I'm here to make your paycheck bigger and the industry better.
Guilty Pleasures:
- good cigar (with that neat scotch), guitar hero, other video games, the driving range, 60 tick rallies in MBS, having someone else shave my head while I have that cigar and scotch (oh yeah, we have that in Oregon!)
Obama or McCain:
- Don't care honestly... If I knew who was going to be more fiscally conservative, that's who I'd vote for. I don't follow politics much.
What DON'T you care about that most others do:
- Sports... I have no time to follow any more. I've played em all and watched em all, but every waking moment goes to my family or MBS.
TV shows:
- Family Guy, Simpsons (though fading), Battlestar Galactica, Entourage, Gordon Ramsey stuff, History Channel, Discovery channel. CNBC's on whenever it's not an infomercial
Movie:
- All time most re-watchable movie for me : Austin Powers: goldmember.
What would you be doing if not Mortgage/MBS market:
- own a few restaurants... One would be 1200 degree coal oven neapolitan pizza with a limited amount of other rustic italian fare. One would be eclectic including my Pad Thai and Thom Ka thai dishes, with a base of classics. One would be called "midnight snacks" and would include peanut butter/jelly rolled up in a tortilla, and various other crazy things I've eaten in the middle of the night. And probably one 1-table, 1-man show for parties of 10 or fewer, with an open kitchen, and no menu.
Ideal Cars for 20, 60, and 100k+:
- 20: used bimmer 330Ci silver on black leather or used M5 always manual trans
- 60: new M3 V8, 4 door, the last car anyone would ever need
- 100k+: 599 fiorano, silverstone grey with red leather, and italian delivery.
Ok.... YOU'RE TURN!
Uh, you're bald!
well, considering you're the guy I was talking about shaving my head, I thought you knew that. Were you going to give us a little intro on Bobby Boy VG or what?
Great outline Matt, I think it would be best if everyone just erased your responses and completed them with their own.
My name is Justin Alexander and I am fortunate to have seen this community grow from the start, and I am looking forward to the expansion as time goes on. We are all here to help one another by providing key information relating to real estate and mortgage, and this synergy will result in a dependable ally for professionals and consumers alike.
This thread gives everyone an opportunity to see past the career title, to know that when it comes down to life, we are actually real people.
- I am native to Oceanside (North San Diego), CA and am a proud Alumni of Vista High School. I have had the enjoyment of living all over Southern California from Big Bear Lake, Newport Beach, Los Angeles to of course "America's Finest city" San Diego.
- Snowboarding is my strongest passion, I was a Snowboard instructor in high school and will remain a lover of the sport until I can no longer use my legs. Additionally, my family and childhood friends all spend many weekends riding quads and buggies in the deserts of SoCal. Wakeboarding, swimming, baseball, eating amazing food, and enjoying great people in my life just about sum up the list...
- White, just barely! I have not yet acquired a taste for wine, but plan on doing so in the near future. At this point, Red is just way too strong for me, and White is simply a "few sips" before I'm over it. : ? I will however take a Kettle one & Tonic with a lime please.
- Single, so no family of my own, other than my close friends who are an amazing part of my life. Immediate family consists of my two younger siblings and my Mother and Father who are going on 25 years of marriage.
- I laugh at everything, mostly myself.
- Reality TV, carne asada fries, dancing, and debating.
- Better of two evils, McCain/Palin
- Conformity. Most people care about "fitting in" and are highly concerned with what others may think. I choose to show integrity in my individuality and to not let anyone hold me back based on their perceptions of what "should" or "should not" be.
- Family Guy, ENTOURAGE, Nip/Tuck, The Apprentice, Wife Swap (Guilty Pleasure), Boston Legal, and Hell's Kitchen.
- Comedy = Knocked Up... Drama = Man on Fire... Action/Suspense = The Departed... "Chick Flick" = Along Came Polly
- I would be an Entertainment/Sports Publicist, or a Snowboard Instructor
- 20k = Pre-owned Jeep Grand Cherokee or Pre-owned Audi A4
- 60k = Chevy Tahoe Hybrid or BMW 550i
- 100k+ = Porsche Cayenne Turbo S or Aston Martin DB9
Okay, I'll play along, too.
I'm Jen.
If you click on my pic to go to my profile page, you won't find any information about me. =)
I live in San Diego County. I am qualified to be Vice President because I can see Mexico from my house.
Learning, but I prefer to learn by doing (kinesthetic learner). I don't like to read. I don't like to write either. Can you tell by my short answers?
I don't drink.
Married 13 years. Two kids (8 and 12). Seventeen year old Shih Tzu.
I don't offend easily. I can laugh at almost anything. I'm silly...I think I embarrass my husband often. If I don't know you, I'm shy (actually, I'm just quiet because I'm trying to size you up to see what I think about you. I can learn more about you by watching and listening).
Ice cream
McCain. I would prefer someone more conservative. I'm a right-wing wacko who clings to religion.
Fashion, cars, material possessions in general.
I don't watch TV, even if I did my husband wouldn't let me have the remote. I like to watch football.
I don't really watch movies. It's hard to sit still for two hours. Sometimes I will watch a movie with my kids (as long as it's not High School Musical!) I liked Daddy Day Care (repeating lines from this movie in public is one of the things I do that embarrasses my husband. B-R-O-C-C-O-L-I...I am the broccoli and I don't know why. Ooohhhh....ooohhhhh.
Who says I'm doing anything in the mortgage market? I just like you guys. I love computers and technology.
I have no clue. I couldn't name a car that cost $60k or $100k. I've never even paid $20k for a car.

Uh, Hi. I'm Dana. I'm a cancer. My turn ons are.... (j/k!)
I currently live in the greater Sacramento, CA area, but will be moving to North Lake Tahoe this weekend just in time for snow season. Beautiful, beautiful area. I have never lived in the snow, and being the dainty princess that I am, I expect I will be falling down a lot.
Eating and drinking. Cycling... mostly road and a little clumsy mountain biking. Hiking and soon snow shoeing. Sky watching at night (love a good meteor shower!)
Red, white, pink, bubbly...I like-a the juice!
Single. I have two cats with people names. Draw your own conclusions.
All over the map!
Ghost hunting tv shows, a good natural disaster, and Patrick Swayze. I almost put down Corey Hart, but I think I'll stick with Patrick Swayze.
I voted last week and don't want to think about it any more until forced to.
The size of someone else's butt. Is it just the people I know that must always comment?
Weeds, Arrested Development, Discovery/Travel/Science/History Channels.
40 Year Old Virgin, Lucky Number Slevin, and sappy Jane Austen based movies.
I have an idea for a different 'green' coalition. I'd be traveling and pimping that.
I have no freaking clue! Will be looking for a hybrid 4WD soon. Don't ask me about particulars.
Greg Boyd: Red or White: - I live in wine country. I hate wine snobs.
What about wine whores? Do you hate wine whores?

- Don't watch much TV.. mostly movies or Discovery when no baseball.
- The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Pulp Fiction

- I work in Vancouver, Washington, but live out in the sticks towards Mt St Helens..
- Motocross, I have a track on my property. Wakeboarding, I live 20 minutes from epic lakes.

- Married 11 years - 3 kids (9,7,3)
- I enjoy being offended as it is almost impossible to do. I like more oddball stuff that most people don't.
- I never feel guilty for pleasure( well, except for that time with the four midgets, a poodle and a pool full of Jello.....) but I'll say reading.
- Chuck Baldwin. The oldest trick in sales is give your buyer two options that are both you. The republocrats figured that out a long thime ago.
- Television- Don't have one and don't care about it at all.
- See above. I'll put some authors down instead. Hunter S Thompson, George RR Martin, Stephen King, William Shirer, Scott Lynch, R. Scott Bakker, Frank Herbert

Dana Wylie:Do you hate wine whores?
I love whores.
I don't really hate wine snobs. I just harbor some disdain for the sub-culture. I mean, come on! How can some discern "a note" of Meyer lemon in a wine? And WTF does a pencil shaving taste like?
For all of you that experience 4 seasons a year, you probably don't want to know that I live in Santa Monica, a Tiger Woods tee shot from the ocean (313 yards - yes I walked it off. Yes, I'm a bit of nerd...and...loving it )
Tennis, cycling, hiking and boogie boarding (I try surfing occassionally, but I still suck at it)
Red. Syrah (Shiraz), Pinot Noir and Cabs. My sister and brother-in-law live in Sonoma county, CA and really know their wines, so I've learned a lot from them.
Single. I've had a couple of close scares, though.
There plenty of research the proves out how beneficial humor is both physiologically and psychologically. In other words, laugh or die! (and engage in plenty of hyperbole )
This is a G-rated site, right?
None of the above. See Sense of Humor above
Reality TV shows, texting while doing 5 other things.
Sports - mostly tennis, soccer and hockey, but not addicted to anything in particular. I'm a recovered TV-holic, having 'created' my own 12-step program years ago.
I usually wait for the movies to come out on DVD (and now, Blu-Ray!). Many of the Spielberg movies have become my favorites. He has such incredible insight into the 'human condition' (whatever that means).
Computers. Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, building/maintaining networks, programming, etc. I have alternated between computers and mortgages with the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune with both industries. With the recent slowdown in mortgages, I'm doing the computer thing part-time.
Under 20k: One that's paid for, like my 2001 Pontiac GrandAm.
Under 60k: A really tricked up Mustang. I've driven an 1988 GT Convertible and a 1985 GT T-top. Both cars were lot of fun, but expensive (lots of tickets! )
Over 100k: Either the Ford GT or the Ferrari FXX. Yeah, right!
...AKA "danno" in the MBSLive forum
Yea, another nerd! =)
It's nice "meeting" all of you.

- Entourage, True Blood, Sons of Anarchy, Family Guy
- Some faves, Usual Suspects, Shooter, Sin City, Bad Santa
- There is a new franchise I can't mention coming stateside that a client is in, and I may partner in. One new place is doing phenomenal in their 1st year, very cool food/bar/relaxing concept.
- 20: used suv, have a V8 Mountaineer for beater, towing, hauling, with performance goodies (headers, exhaust, no cats, cam etc)
- 60: for 60K I'd pick up another Gen II Viper
- 100k+: 08/09 ACR Viper
Here Sir!
I'm Kent
- I live in the Minneapolis-St Paul area. Originally I am from the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. For those of you that are unsure of where that is... find Wisconsin and go straight north. People from the UP (Upper Penninsula) are called "Yoopers". Google that and you will find a band that has made a living off of the unique accent and heritage of the area.
- Collecting useless or near useless knowledge. You never know when you might have to carry on a conversation with someone and what better way to impress them, than to pull something out of your hat.
- Both. Usually red with substantial meals and white with less filling dishes.
- Married with 3 kids (step-kids to me, but love them as my own) and 2 granddaughters. Oh, don't forget the Amstaff Terrier and husky-border collie mix!
- Got one!
- Video games would be the only pleasure giving me any guilt
- Wish one was someone I was voting for instead of against. Go McCain!
- Losing my hair, offensive comments, and being PC. Grow up people!
- History Channel, Discovery Channel, NCIS, Big Bang Theory, Big Brother, The Apprentice, Most Haunted, Boston Legal, and sports.
- Way too many to name.
- Wow... given this economy and the bad rap brokers have taken... maybe moving to a used car salesman
- 20: used Caddy, BMW, or Mercedes
- 60: New Caddy, BMW, or Mercedes
- 100k+: No clue. They won't even let me sit in them yet!
