I would really like everyone's feedback on this. We are doing a full over haul in the office and after using Point for the last 9 years I am considering switching over to Encompass. I have used both and seem to be leaning more towards Encompass moving forward. What are your experiences and preferences? Pros and Cons?

Thanks in advance for all of the feedback.

Encompass has a lot of bells and whistles that you can use in marketing.   Point is getting more of those, but is still not as good.    I have used both Point and Encompass.  If they cost the same, I am not sure which I would pick.  I have been with 3 companies in the past 3 years and they dictated which one I use and for free.

Have you looked at Encompass Anywhere?

I've had 4 years experience with Point and 2 years of experience with Encompass. The first few months I hated Encompass, but once I learned how to navigate it I never looked back. Encompass is a much more streamline system, meaning you can do everything in your LOS!!

Marketing, rate locks, milestones, training, it is very effective!! The con I have though is it is a little too techy, and if it weren't for our Ops Manager knowing all the "rules" like the back of her hand, I probably would not have seen the same benefits of the program.

Point gets the job done, and is very simple which I do like. Just not the same bells and whistles like Jan said. And Point is far more annoying when dealing with multiple borrowers or extensives REO schedules.

Kind of like Windows 98 (Point) vs. Windows XP (Encompass), evolution simply gives you more...

I love Point, it is easy to navigate and easy to understand.  i have never used encompass so sorry no opinions on that.  I work for a net branch of benchmark mortgage which requires that we use mortgage dashboard.  it is web based which makes it extremely slow, and it is extremely confusing.  I am a big fan of KISS, keep it super simple, that is what i like about point.

I used Encompass with my former employer and I always like it because I knew nothing else.  When I changed companies a couple of years ago they had Point and I love Point.  Very easy to use and very easy to navigate around the site.  Would never go back to Encompass!!

I used encompass for about 4 years then changed companies and now use point.  I am an old dog who does not like learning new tricks.

I would prefer to go back to encompass, once you learn how to use it I feel it blows point away.

There are certain features that encompass has that makes it easier to navigate and perform certain tasks.

My office also uses Encompass Anywhere.  Never tried Calyx Point.  In terms of pipeline and contact management, I have zero complaints.

Last time I used encompass was 5 years ago, so no relevant comparison.  I do know that Calyx is the industry standard for a reason.  I've heard they're very similar these days.

it's ridiculous what you can do with the newer versions of point if you really maximize it.  The origination process at my company (the guy you talked to Tim) is very front-end labor intensive, but once it's done, there's maybe, and I mean MAYBE 20 minutes of work left to be done by the LO once the deal is submitted to the processor.
