Gotta love how ESPN jumps right into speculating what teams Plaxico might play for next - How 'bout the jail time he'll be doing next!!!  He won't be playing for a team...

Maybe he can team up with a famous dog owner for workouts.

    Pitt looked good this weekend.

NY_ (insert G or J) didn't impress anyone this week.

Det still looking to go winless...

Pittsburgh's defense was awesome yesterday but our offense was terrible.  We stole the win from Dallas; but that is football.

Baltimore is next and it might be a 3 to nothing game the way our offense looks and there defense looks, every week I am let down by the poor play of Big Ben.  I don't think he can win the tough big games.  Maybe he had too much success early with going to the AFC championship in his rookie season then winning the Super Bowl the next year.  In the SB he did not play well and has not played well in the big games.

He needs to take a pay cut he is not worth 100 million dollars

Well, hopefully, there is a sense of urgency in the Jet locker room.  They've snoozed and losed through two games they should have put away.  I think they need to go 3-0 now to make it in.

The Eagles have been handed a lifeline.  If they go 3-0, I think they will get in the playoffs.  Sometimes, a benching does a guy some good.

I think the Jets should watch out for Miami they are playing real good

I do not see a wild card coming out of the AFC East so the only chance of making the playoffs will be by being the division champ.

    #1 seed: Titans

    #2 seed: Steelers

    #3 seed: Ravens

    #4 seed: Colts

    #5 seed: Miami

    #6 seed: Bronco's

Hey, Easy on the Vick comments.  Despite his mistake(s) (mistakes that we all make including you)  He was the face of the Falcons and the biggest playmaker in the NFL.  We're judging his play not his personal life.  Id think we all would be shocked and somewhat dissappointed to find out some of our favorite heroes personal hobbies.  Dont be judgemental!

Michael Vick should never be allowed to play in the NFL again, he is a great athlete and can run but "the biggest play maker in the NFL"; I don't think so.

He slapped Arthur Blank and the Atlanta football fans right between the eyes.  Fighting and torturing dogs is not a personal hobby but a horrible illegal enterprise, he did it to make a profit.  There is no doubt that someone will pick him up.  Atlanta still owns his rights but he will never play for Atlanta agian.  As a QB he could run but was a terrible passer; he would make a super star wide receiver probably at the minimum NFL pay grade.

Michael Vick deserves to be the butt of jokes.  There are a lot of people in the spotlight who deserve it as well.  Art Schlister [sp] is too far in the past to have been paired up with Burress.  Guys who have millions and squander it because of poor behavior [I am being kind here] deserve all of the scorn that heads their way.  Yes, Atlanta was IN a Super Bowl.  But, they were in because they upset a strong Minnesota team who had a bad game at the wrong time.

Back to this year.  Philly showed teams that the Giants could be had.  And if they make the playoffs, it will be because they have beaten the Giants, Cowboys & Redskins in 3 of their last 4 games.  And they may be the real sleeper team in the NFC.

You might be right Paul, but you need to watch out for Tampa and Atlanta, they play this sunday and I think the winner will be a contender for the NFC crown.  Matt Ryan the rookie for Atlanta is having an amazing year.

The Giants can be beat, Pittsburgh made mistakes late in the 4th quarter that cost them the game.  This sunday Dallas plays them and I think after their loss to Pittsburgh they are going to be fired up for the game.

1st African-American QB to be drafted as the overall Number 1 pick

    3X pro-bowler

ESPY Award Winner - they dont just hand those out to anyone

    Multiple Records set

He was clearly leading a Hall of Fame career.  Just made a huge mistake.  Same could be said about Pete Rose, Jason Giambi (who we are somewhat forgiving to), Mark Mcgwire, allegedly Lance Armstrong and the list goes on.  Im not by all means justifying his behavior.  What he did was wrong?  What he did was indeed terrible?  But he was a Great Football Player!  And i believe he can still play and definitely should be allowed to.  Fault him as much as you want about his style of play - BUT HE WON GAMES!

A lot HAS been said about Pete Rose, Mark McGwire [his lack of support for the HOF will show he is damaged goods, too], and others. But, Vick is going to have to earn his way back and it will not be where he left off.  He may have to go the USFL or CFL route [assuming the Canadians let him across the border].  A mistake is a one-time thing.  This was a way of life.  I disagree with you.  He is an example for young people whether he wants to be or not.  And until he shows his life has changed, that will be his legacy.

The Giants will be fired up too and I hope they dismantle Dallas.  Combined with an Eagle win it would put Philly at 8-5-1 and in the catbird seat over Dallas at 8-6 & Washington at 8-6 [unless they slip up at Cincy]. TB beating Atlanta would probably knock Atlanta out of it.  I think Carolina & TB will be in.  So, the WC will probably be between the East runner-up and Atlanta.  Atlanta has a game at Minny and a cream puff game at home with the Rams.  Philly has Cleveland at home & then finishes with Washington away and Dallas at home. Philly finishing 10-5-1 will probably get them in.

"Leading a Hall of Fame Career" you can't really believe that can you.  So how many years did he lead the NFC or NFL in passing, how many records does he have except maybe "most yards run by a QB".  There are too many real good QB's that do not get in the Hall of Fame.  Doug Williams was a great QB and has a SB championship and he is not in the Hall of Fame.  Michael Vick does not belong on the same playing field with the likes of Bradshaw, Stauback, Griese, Montana and I could go on and on.

And by the way what does him being an African American have to do with anything.  A football player is judged on his talent and how many championships he wins not the color of his skin.

And the folks you mentioned above as far as I know do night fight and torture and kill innocent dogs.

Mark - COLOR! (try "Ethnicity" - the politically correct term Mark) has something do w/ it.  It was a milestone achieved by no other African American football player before him.  And now you're the ultimate judge on what makes a real QB? Ha- those Bradshaw days are over buddy.  The game is changing!  QBs now are now bringing more to the table than just pocket presence.  Being able to run to the ball (in addition to throwing) is a Plus!  In some cases a HUGE PLUS considering how fast defensive lines have now become.  Running the football as a QB can be effective if its utilize properly - its not traditional but its still effective!

I personally forgive him, he apologized for what he did and I think it was a sincere apology and he is paying his dues for what he did.  I believe he should be forgiven and given another chance in society and that people should look past what happened. Now, don't get me wrong, I love dogs and I feel that what Michael Vick participated and funded was despicable and not only morally wrong but cruel and senseless. But every single one of us has made mistakes, some small and some large, and Michael Vick is a human being who just made some really large mistakes, it's just up to the people out there to decide if they will forgive him and move on, or keep on looking back to what happened.

    Shannon Waldron:
He was clearly leading a Hall of Fame career.

I would agree that he had a great start to his career, let's compare his 1st 6 seasons average per game stats to those of Warren Moon:

    • Passing Y/G Moon 217.9 to Vick 155.5
    • Passing TD/G Moon 1.38 to Vick 0.95
    • INT/G Moon 1.17 to Vick 0.70
    • Rushing Y/G Moon 11.5 to Vick 52.2
    • Rushing TD/G Moon 0.18 to Vick 0.28

Now, Warren Moon had 15 productive seasons to get in the Hall of Fame.  As QB's age their rushing yards tend to go down, so who knows what would have happened for Vick?  He clearly was way behind in passing yards...  I don't think I would agree that he was certainly headed for the HoF, but he was doing well.

Good Point!  Which could possibly mean that Vick's numbers would have increased according to your theory Kent about what point in their career does a QB perform at his peak.
