One of the wierdest things I have stumbled upon by "googling"....seriously wierd

Ok, so I am doing some general research about the town of Paradise Valley, for marketing purposes....

I stumble over to the wikipedia page:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradise_Valley,_Arizona

I notice a very weird description under the "Notable Residents" section....look at the last person listed (you must look at this to follow)

So I take the name "Saranden Seip" and google it....

The first page listed is this:

    http://www.supportforcourtney.com/2008/01/discharge-from-crotch.html

If you look for that name on that page it really has nothing to do with the wikipedia "issue" either...

    What the Hell!??????

    I don't get it.

I've always wondered how easy or hard it would be to write a Wikipedia page about yourself or use it for business promotion.

Saranden Seip - Notable for stealing $750,000 worth of generic tampons from the Paradise Valley Country Club, and then using them all in what could be described as a "heavy flow day."    pretty notable if you ask me--- remember these are done by the general public.

Wiki is one weird place and is an open edit.  Anyone can open a page and provide documentation.  It's dependent upon the next person to edit it if they know more.  For example:  I could open a new topic "Mortgage News Daily" and write my own version of the history.  If Matt came along, he could challenge my text and start citing sources.  If I disagree, I can call for arbitration, and so on.....at the top of each subject there are tabs for editing, discussion and history.

Some of those folks are professional writers, while many are Joe Six Packs and just write about their passions.  Be prepared to back up anything you claim and to your work marked up and corrected.  As a whole, my experience over there has been on the observation front, and like most things, the majority of behind the scenes groups start out amiable and eventually turns into a cat fight.  The other observation is noticing the odd post (usually someone writes about themself) is unchallenged, rarely viewed and just sites in cyberspace where no one really cares.

I realize anyone can write this stuff on wiki...but I found this to be wierd...

You dont get it? Ok...here goes...

I was looking at the list of "notabel residents or famous people who live there basically" in PV (high dollar area) and the last person listed is "Saranden Seip - Notable for stealing $750,000 worth of generic tampons from the Paradise Valley Country Club, and then using them all in what could be described as a "heavy flow day."

So I think...ummm thats a very odd description of a notable resident...so I google that Saranden Seip name and it takes you to this page......

    http://www.supportforcourtney.com/2008/01/discharge-from-crotch.html

You have to go to that page to see what I mean....and teh funny thing is they are really not even related pages or related for any reason, just seems odd.

Biltmore Resort & Spa, old school charm in PV designed by the great Frank Lloyd Wright. My buddies and I used to go to Scottsdale frequently, and we would always stay at the James Hotel which was very outgoing, hip, and fun. If we wanted more of a relaxing, tranquil scene we would do the Biltmore instead.

    I miss Scottsdale. Sad

Come out here anytime Justin, I'll show you around the "new" hotspots...namely the new W Hotel bar...sweeettt.

  • Thu, Oct 9 2008 5:23 PM

Nice, I'll take you up on that sooner or later for sure. I'm a big fan of the W! I really like how each hotel has a different theme for their lounge/bar area. The one here in SD is "The Beach" and there is sand everywhere. What's the theme there in AZ?

  • Thu, Oct 9 2008 5:50 PM

They have the "Living Room" which is the lobby bar...I think all W's have that. Then there is Sushi Roku, Shade, which is a Miami style bar, and the Pool is uptop on the roof overlooking Camelback rd and all the bars, called Sunset Beach, sand there too.
