Justin Alexander:Michael I get Kyle's point. It will be hard for me to adjust to the boxes and funkyness of a dual sport bike (I think they look a little dorky). I grew up in Glamis so I'm MOTO all the way. It's ok though, you can't take a moto bike on the street so a KTM Enduro is the only way to go for road trips.
I've never ridden this way either, but you have to give up something. If comfort is what you are after, this trip is probably not for you (but of course we know it is). This is a trip about letting it all go, getting away, goofing off and just getting back to being boys. If enough of you want to ride without gear, then I guess that is what we will do, but I've stayed in enough hotels to drive me crazy.
I want this to be a wild trip, eating out of cans, sitting by a campfire shooting the ***. I want to fish, shoot a few cans, laugh, drink, and spend a few days living on minimal, and sustained by the basics and comraderie.
