Michael I get Kyle's point. It will be hard for me to adjust to the boxes and funkyness of a dual sport bike (I think they look a little dorky). I grew up in Glamis so I'm MOTO all the way. It's ok though, you can't take a moto bike on the street so a KTM Enduro is the only way to go for road trips.

I've never ridden this way either, but you have to give up something.  If comfort is what you are after, this trip is probably not for you (but of course we know it is).  This is a trip about letting it all go, getting away, goofing off and just getting back to being boys.   If enough of you want to ride without gear, then I guess that is what we will do, but I've stayed in enough hotels to drive me crazy.

I want this to be a wild trip, eating out of cans, sitting by a campfire shooting the ***.  I want to fish, shoot a few cans, laugh, drink, and spend a few days living on minimal, and sustained by the basics and comraderie.

If a Dual Sport/Enduro is not your cup of tea get something cheap and unload it later.  Here are some pretty cheap bikes that will fit the bill nicely:

They can be had cheap, and possibly even cheaper.

No!  we have to take gear.

i want to wrestle a bear with knives, javelin fish, fashion a macguyvered water filtration system, and use shares of fannie/freddie stock for toilet paper.

"shoot cans" you say?  Now i'm interested.  wait.  you're planning on killing us aren't you?

LOL Nice! You roll with these kids? Seth is NUTS!! So are all those dudes. I remember sitting back watching Jeff Emig and his crew go crazy in Glamis when I was a kid, they were launching razorbacks like it was nothing!!

And don't even joke about doing the hotel thing on a trip like this!!! The gear will be taken with us, we will do the camping/wildlife deal to the fullest extent. Guns are a must as well, as long as you don't plan on taking us all out like Matt said Michael!! :P

LOL, I am such a terrible shot who knows what could happen.  Wrestle a bear?  I would love to see that one.  I definitely want to travel the off beaten path and hopefully run into some wildlife and do a little fishing.

Bring those shares with you, we will need toilet paper and targets!

Haha, nah, buddy has met them out there, they are nutz. My friend was like "dude these guys are insane 24/7" lol. I've got all the Crusty movies. Seth had a bad crash at Glamis, like 300ft, and then the other one where he has metal implants in his face/head when he ate *** and overshot a landing ramp, hit so hard his goggles were forced into his head.

I didn't even notice this thing going on over here.

Damn right, it's 4 brothers and a Ken Doll rolling from Vegas on up to Back Country in Canada next spring! Maybe we could make it two crackers if we get Matty G to go with us?

Anyhow, I'll go find the bike tomorrow and get acclimated. Time to roll.
