NAR's displaying the same typical arrogance I find in Realtors. I want more competition to drive down the absurdly high fees Realtors get. Realtors commission is a large part, the biggest fee, of the purchase price. I want more arms length regulations as the local Realtor Boards & the States various Real Estate Divisions protect Realtors NOT not even close to adequately disciplining them. Mortgage Fraud is the Realtors dirty little secret they hold as a club over lenders.

RE:Realtors Under Fire From DOJ, GAO, And That is Just the Beginning

This action by the DOJ and FTC is required to correct the long established rules and regulations that control the nations MLS systems from being competitive. The current rules allow members to interfere with the buyer's right to representation by agreement. I am a Realtor exclusively representing the interests of only buyers for the last 16 years. A national mls with the consumer controlling the decisions would be the best outcome.

RE:Realtors Under Fire From DOJ, GAO, And That is Just the Beginning

Only maximum exposure will assure maximum sale price and it is my job to provide that exposure in order to be honest to my seller clients.

RE:Realtors Under Fire From DOJ, GAO, And That is Just the Beginning

The fact that I am a Realtor may not surprise you but my response may. I agree that the consumer should have the final say on wether they want their property displayed on the Internet, but why wouldnt they? When I take a listing, my job is to market the property and attract a buyer. So I want to get the greatest possible exposure for the property.
