All eyes are on the upcoming release of U.S. inflation results for January following the release of Canadian CPI data.
7 a.m. EST - Core Canadian inflation for January fell by 0.4% month-over-month, lower than expectations for a 0.1% drop. Year-over-year, core CPI moderated to 1.9%, against expectations for 2.2% and following the 2.4% rate in December.
Headline CPI came in at 1.1% year-over-year, below expectations for a 1.2% rate and following December's 1.2% pace.
8:30 a.m. EST The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will release inflation results. Headline inflation is expected to grow 0.3% month-over-month after falling 0.8% in December.
Core inflation is expected to grow 1.5% year-over-year after rising 1.8% in December.
11:55 a.m. EST - European Central Bank member Lucas Papademos will speak in New York.
