Treasurys slide ahead of Fed minutes
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Treasury prices retreated Wednesday, sending yields higher ahead of minutes from the Federal Reserve's policy meeting last month. The minutes may provide clues about how the central bank is thinking about its toolkit for smoothly raising key lending rates. The benchmark 10-year Treasury note yield, which rises as prices fall, was up 3 basis points at 2.539%. The 30-year bond yield rose 4 basis points to 3.413%, and the 5-year note yield rose 2.5 basis points to 1.529%. Also on the calendar are speeches from Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen and Minneapolis Fed President Narayana Kocherlakota.
