The North Dakota legislature has chosen not to create a separate
Mortgage Broker License, but rather issues a
Money Broker License. Administered through the
North Dakota Department of Financial Institutions, this license allows an individual or company to handle both first and second mortgages in the state.
To become a Mortgage Broker applicants pay $400 with the application, and $300 for the annual license fee. Mortgage Brokers do not need to maintain a physical office in the state.
