More Rate Cuts Could Be Necessary from the Fed, Says IMF

The International Monetary Fund said in a World Economic Outlook report that more rate cuts could be necessary from the U.S. Federal Reserve.

The IMF revised down growth expectations for the U.S. in 2008 to 0.5% from 1.5% forecast in January. For 2009, U.S. growth is expected at 0.6%.

"The effects of the financial turmoil in the United States has been to lower the prospects of growth, but, somewhat paradoxically, it has also increased oil prices, metal prices, and of course food prices," IMF chief economist Simon Johnson said in a research report, adding he saw inflation as a global concern.

I absolutely think that inflation is a major concern for the United States, this can ultimately put us into a recession.

Counties are not collecting property taxes due to vacant properties that are in the process of forclosure. The property becomes at risk to vandalist and the county code enforcement has to secure manny of these properties. Due to the slow process of the foreclosure prosses many previous home owners are hit with penalties and fines that they can not afford to pay. Let alone secure the property. I suggest that in the mean time the county becomes a lien holder on the property and the lender must pay the current and past due taxes emediatly. In cases where the property has become unscure and the code emforcement has become involved. Again the lender will be required to comply with code enforcement requirements. The lender would be notified of the current violations and the lender will either comply or the county will again secure the property and file a lien on the property unitl the fees and fines are paid. I am currently fighting the County of Sacramento, Ca. for current fines, penalties and costs to secure a property that I left over 6 months ago. Vandalist broke in and caused alot of damages. Then a storm blew the fence down and the lender has taken no action the properly secure the property after I informed them of my departure. The lender did obtain vacancy insurance. However they have not responded to the code enforcement and the county is now threatening me with going to Small CLaims Court if I do not pay. Does any one have any suggetions I might take to resovle this situation? Thank your for your time and consideration.

I agree 100% more cuts needed from Federal Govt. to help stop forclosures ,and recession. We are already feeling pain due to high gas, food prices. Jobs being lost and shipped to other Countries. Stock market is up/down. For last couple of weeks nobody talking about foreclousers,we still has a problem. Hillary Clinton, Barok Obama, and John McCain not saying much about this existing problem. They should be asked again and again till something happens. I know President Bush could solve this in a hurry if he wants to. Thanks.
